The season of bloom at the Japanese House is coming to a close. We started out spring with magnolia and cherry blossoms filling the trees, and are ending with hosta and liriope flowers throughout the garden. There is year-round interest in the garden, so there is no need to be upset about the last blooms. Although we have a few weeks to go, I’m excited to see the vibrant color change in the maple trees around the site. I will also welcome the cooler fall temperatures which make working in the garden-and even relaxing on the veranda-far more enjoyable.
