First Sunday Family Programs

Learn about the culture, history, stories and arts of Japan in these monthly, drop-in programs. From May to
October, stop by Shofuso House and Garden for a series of interactive programs for children and families. Free
after admission.

Tell Me A Story: 11 am — 12 pm
In this story hour for children ages 3 to 5 and parents/guardians, hear traditional folktales as well as those by much-
loved Japanese authors. Each story will be accompanied by a hands-on craft project and movement activity.

Hands on Japan: 12 am — 2 pm
Bring your family to experience demonstrations of Japan’s arts and crafts. Try your hand at a new art form every month! Open to visitors of all ages.

Manga Meetup 2 pm — 3:30 pm
Love all things manga? This monthly program moderated by local artists is for youth ages 12 to 16. Sketch, hone your skills, share your artwork, and meet new friends in a relaxed, social environment. Basic drawing materials will be provided. Youth can feel free to bring their own. Participants should meet instructor at admission desk.
