This week’s preschool programming highlights the story of Momotaro, a little boy born from a peach. Momotaro is a very sleepy baby, but he quickly grows strong and embarks on a big adventure to conquer a band of wicked ogres.

Kids love the animals Momotaro befriends along the way.

You and your young one will enjoy a kamishibai (picture story card) reading, followed by a craft project that brings the tale to life. Kids and adults work together to create a unique peach sculpture that embodies the child’s favorite part of the story.

This preschool program is $10 for an adult/child pair and $5 for each additional guest (adult or child). Winter programming is conducted indoors at our Sakura Pavilion, about 75 yards from the Japanese House and Garden.
