We’re celebrating our second Members Only Evening with a light reception at 4:30pm and reading by award-winning author Mark Lyons from 5:30 to 6:30pm. Mark wrote a short story compilation, Brief Eulogies At Roadside Shrines, that includes The Place of the Red-Footed Rooster in the Hierarchy of Sentient Beings, a story set in Edo, Japan and inspired by the work of Hokusai. Mark will read the story, give a short presentation about Hokusai, and host a question and answer session.

Mark Lyons is author of Brief Eulogies at Roadside Shrines, a short story collection named to Kirkus Reviews Best Books of 2015. He is director of the Philadelphia Storytelling Project, which works with immigrant communities, homeless veterans and youth to create audio stories about their lives.

This is an exclusive event for members of Shofuso. Click here for more information and to become a member!
